Overview
WingDeck turns a phone or tablet into a local remote for the WingDeck desktop companion. This policy describes how the mobile apps and supporting services handle information.
Information on your devices
WingDeck stores pairing credentials, app preferences, Premium status, and verified rewarded-ad time on the device. Pairing credentials are kept in platform-protected storage. The app exchanges media information, album artwork, system statistics, Deck configuration, and control commands with the desktop selected by the user over the local network.
Advertising and rewards
The free edition on supported operating systems uses Google Mobile Ads. Google and its partners may process advertising identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, device information, ad interactions, diagnostics, and consent choices according to the user's region and choices.
Watching a rewarded ad is optional. A completed reward is verified by the WingDeck reward service before ad-free time is added. The service processes a random installation identifier, a secret held on the device, reward-session identifiers, timestamps, and AdMob verification data to prevent fraudulent rewards. It does not require a WingDeck account.
Purchases and subscriptions
Premium subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. WingDeck receives purchase status, subscription expiration, and transaction identifiers needed to provide and restore Premium, but does not receive payment-card details.
On iOS 12, the encrypted App Store receipt is sent to the WingDeck reward service and then directly to Apple for validation. The service retains validation audit information such as active status, expiration, environment, and installation identifier, but does not store payment-card details.
Sharing and retention
WingDeck does not sell personal information. Data is shared with Google for advertising and consent management, with Apple or Google for purchases, and with the reward service for reward verification. Local app data remains until the app is removed or its data is cleared. Reward security records are retained only as needed to verify rewards, prevent replay and abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
Security and control
Desktop communication is authenticated after pairing and is intended for the user's local network. A paired device can be revoked from the desktop companion. Users can purchase Premium to remove advertising, use advertising privacy choices where available, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.
Children and updates
WingDeck is not directed to children under 13. This policy may be updated as app functionality or legal requirements change; the effective date above will be revised.
