Overview & Scope
WingDeck is a local-first control surface and companion software developed by SDMV (https://sdmv.my.id/). WingDeck transforms mobile devices, tablets, smartwatches, and vintage hardware into macro decks, media controllers, hardware monitors, and trackpads for macOS and Windows computers. This Privacy Policy governs all WingDeck software distributions, including the Apple App Store (iOS & macOS), Google Play Store (Android & Wear OS), Microsoft Store (Windows), and standalone desktop companions and legacy packages.
Information Handled on Your Devices
WingDeck prioritizes local-first architecture. The core application functions without requiring account creation, cloud logins, or remote server synchronization. All operational data is stored locally on your device:
- Pairing Credentials: Desktop authentication tokens and 6-digit confirmation codes are stored in secure platform storage (Apple Keychain, Android EncryptedSharedPreferences, or BlackBerry RecordStore).
- App Preferences: Custom Deck button grids, theme preferences, time formatting, and sensor display units are stored locally.
- Local Transmission: Media playback metadata, album artwork, system telemetry statistics, and deck trigger commands travel strictly between your devices over your local Wi-Fi network or direct USB cable.
Clipboard Synchronization and Text Transfer
When clipboard synchronization is enabled, WingDeck transfers the current plain-text clipboard between your active mobile device and paired desktop companions over an authenticated local network WebSocket or direct USB connection. To ensure absolute privacy and security:
- Clipboard text is processed strictly in-memory (RAM) and is never written to disk, persistent databases, or cloud servers.
- Transfers are strictly capped at 256 KiB per payload to protect device memory.
- Clipboard contents are never transmitted to advertising networks, analytics trackers, or external servers.
- Clipboard synchronization is active only while the mobile app is open in the foreground and can be toggled off at any time in settings.
Operating System Permissions & System Access
WingDeck requests only the system permissions necessary to deliver its core functionality:
- Local Network (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS): Used exclusively to discover and connect to paired companions on your local Wi-Fi network via UDP broadcast (port 4179) and authenticated WebSockets.
- Desktop input permissions: WingDeck uses native input backends for keyboard and pointer control. On macOS, Accessibility permission is needed only when the input backend requests the Accessibility fallback. On Linux, access to the input device may require host setup.
- Direct USB: USBMuxd on Apple mobile devices and Android Open Accessory on supported Android devices carry control traffic through a data-capable USB cable. Developer ADB debugging is not required.
- System Media Transport & Hardware Sensors: Used by desktop companions to read active media track metadata (title, artist, album art) and hardware vital sensors (CPU/GPU thermals and loads) for display on your mobile screen.
Optional Usage Analytics (Consent-Controlled)
Public aggregate site counters
The WingDeck website publishes aggregate page-view, direct-download, and Microsoft Store outbound-click totals. These operational counters do not use cookies, advertising identifiers, fingerprinting, or persistent visitor IDs. A temporary browser-session flag avoids counting repeated reloads of the same page in one tab; that flag stays on your device and is never sent to SDMV. The server stores only a total for each counter and its last update time, beginning September 12, 2026.
WingDeck includes an optional, privacy-respecting anonymous usage telemetry system designed solely to measure feature stability, connection reliability, and platform usage trends. Analytics is disabled by default and remains inactive until you explicitly grant consent within app preferences or the website cookie choices.
When enabled, telemetry events may include: application version, operating system family, build architecture, feature mode used, connection success/failure indicators, and a randomized installation identifier. WingDeck never collects or transmits: typed keystrokes, macro shortcuts, pointer movements, clipboard text, song titles, artist names, lyrics, album artwork, URLs opened by actions, computer hostnames, pairing tokens, PINs, or precise location.
Consented mobile events are processed through Google Analytics for Firebase. Consent can be revoked at any time in app preferences or website settings, which immediately halts event transmission and clears analytics identifiers.
Advertising and Reward Verification
The free editions of WingDeck on the Apple App Store and Google Play utilize Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display non-intrusive banner ads. Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, approximate IP-based location, and interaction diagnostics in accordance with your region and privacy choices.
Users may optionally watch a rewarded video ad to receive temporary ad-free usage time (e.g., +1 Hour Pass). To prevent reward fraud without requiring a personal account, the WingDeck reward verification service processes an ephemeral randomized installation token, session timestamp, and AdMob verification signature. Desktop hosts and legacy mobile builds (iOS 12, Android 4.2, and BlackBerry OS 7.1) are 100% ad-free and do not request or display advertising.
Purchases, Subscriptions, and Store Compliance
In-app purchases and optional auto-renewing subscriptions (such as WingDeck Premium to permanently remove banner ads) are processed exclusively through the official platform stores:
- Apple App Store (iOS & macOS): Billed to your Apple Account via Apple In-App Purchase (StoreKit). Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing period in your Apple ID Account Settings.
- Google Play Store (Android & Wear OS): Billed to your Google Play account. Managed and cancelled anytime via Google Play Subscription settings.
- Microsoft Store (Windows): Managed directly through your Microsoft Account billing center.
SDMV does not collect, receive, or store your payment card numbers, bank details, or billing addresses. Store receipts and entitlement tokens are verified securely with the respective store platforms.
Third-Party Data Sharing & Protection Standards
SDMV does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is shared with third parties only as strictly necessary to deliver authorized store services, advertising, and consented analytics:
- Google LLC: For Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and Google Analytics for Firebase (when opted-in).
- Apple Inc., Google LLC, & Microsoft Corporation: For store billing, digital receipts, and platform updates.
All third-party partners provide equal or greater privacy protection standards complying with international regulations including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and Apple Developer Guidelines Section 5.1.1.
Data Retention and User Deletion Rights
Because WingDeck is local-first, you maintain full sovereignty over your data:
- Local Data Removal: You can wipe all pairing tokens, saved preferences, and cached artwork at any time by selecting Reset Data in settings, clearing app storage, or uninstalling the application.
- Server-Side Records Deletion: Ephemeral reward verification logs are retained only as long as necessary to enforce security and prevent replay abuse. Users may request manual deletion of any associated installation identifiers by contacting our privacy team.
Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
WingDeck is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children.
Software Warranty & Liability Disclaimers
WingDeck software, mobile applications, desktop companions, installer packages, and legacy builds are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, statutory, or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SDMV and its contributors disclaim liability for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from software use, sideloading, or configuration.
